How to refund to customer using Razorpay Payout links

Overview & Use Cases

Return Prime now supports Razorpay Payout Links to process refunds seamlessly and securely. This functionality enables merchants to initiate refunds even when:

  • The original payment mode does not support automated refunds (e.g., Cash on Delivery).

  • The customer’s bank details are not known or need to be collected securely.

  • The merchant prefers flexibility in issuing refunds without needing direct bank integration.

By leveraging Razorpay payout links, refunds can be sent directly to the customer through a secure Razorpay-hosted experience, allowing the customer to choose how they wish to receive the funds.


Steps to Enable Razorpay Refunds on Return Prime

  1. Login to Return Prime Dashboard

  2. Navigate to Settings > Integrations

  3. Locate Razorpay under the integrations list.

  4. Click on "Connect" or "Add Credentials".

    • Enter your RazorpayX Account Number(Mandatory), Razorpay API Key and API Secret.

  5. Once done, click on Save.



How to Issue Refund via Razorpay Payout Link

  1. Go to the Requests tab in Return Prime.

  2. Open the return/exchange request you want to refund.

  3. Click on the Refund option.

  4. Select Razorpay Payout Link as the refund method.


5. Confirm the refund — a secure payout link will be sent to the customer automatically.

6. The customer will receive an SMS/email from Razorpay where they can provide their preferred refund destination (bank, UPI, etc.). The payout link can also be seen on th etimeline of the request page for your future reference.
