This document explains how to configure fees for returns and exchanges in Return Prime using Shopify shipping methods.
The example below uses a return fee for illustration. The same configuration is also used to apply shipping charges on exchange orders.
What This Configuration Does
Return Prime applies fees during return and exchange flows using Shopify shipping methods.
Shipping methods created for this purpose:
Are used only during return and exchange flows
These shipping methods are available only during return and exchange checkout.
Do not affect standard checkout shipping options.
Example: Configuring a Return Fee
Step 1: Configure the Fee in Return Prime
Go to Return Prime → Settings → Policy
Locate the Return & Exchange Shipping Charges section
3.Click Create New Fee config
4.Enter:
Fee Name
The label you want to useShopify Shipping Method Name
The shipping method name that will be used to apply this fee.
This shipping method will be used only during return and exchange flows
5.Save the configuration.
Step 2: Create the Shipping Method in Shopify
Go to Shopify Admin → Settings → Shipping and Delivery
Select the relevant Shipping Profile
Add a new shipping rate
Configure:
Name
Use the exact same name entered in Return Prime.Price
Set the fee amount.
6. Save the shipping method.
